Butterfly class went to the school library to explore some books. They also rehearsed Handa’s surprise to each other for literacy and Maths they were learning ‘1-more’ with some children beginning to write number sentences.
The children in Ladybird and Dragonfly classes have had lots of fun getting to know each other and settling into the nursery routines. We look forward to sharing their learning experiences this year and getting them ready for Reception.
In July some of our gardening club pupils went to Gallions Primary School to see the ‘Edible Playground’. Our pupils were inspired by the big green gardening space the school has, and they also have compost and water reserve containers. Last week year 1 children went on an educational visit to Cody Dock. The children were observing the local area and looking at the possible ways of travel. When we arrived at Cody Dock, the pupils participated in a treasure hunt looking for particular garden plants. They also participated in bird watching, spotting local birds.
In winter our Gardening Club planted two-tone tulips and daffodil bulbs and tucked them under the hay to keep them warm. Best thing of all,our Year 3 &4 gardening team have planted the onion seeds which were produced from last year’s crop of onions !
