Are you keen to be green?

I am delighted to introduce you to our very first East London Children’s University workshop – it would be great if you could share this with your CU families.

We have partnered with the Siemens Crystal to create this fun morning of activities for the whole family.  Earn 2 Children’s University credits and create your very own sustainable building from recycled materials:

When: Tuesday 25th October 2016
Time: 10.00 – 12.30pm
Where: Siemens Crystal, 1 Siemens Brothers Way, E16 1GB

Come to one of the world’s greenest buildings and explore our interactive exhibition on green cities of the future! Step into the year 2050 with us and learn how to save the planet. Watch thought provoking videos in our two immersive theatres, run your city sustainably for 40 years, calculate your water footprint, breathe in the clean air by our green wall, have a go on our Pavegen squares to power up the lights and see if you can set off our Tesla coil! Fun for the whole family!

10.00     Arrive

10.15     Free time to take a look the exhibition, you’ll be given a quiz to fill out.

11.15     ‘How do buildings around the world use green ideas’ a short presentation

11.30    Challenge – Create your own sustainable building from recycled materials (toilet rolls/egg cartons/bubble wrap). Small prize for the most innovative and creative design.

12.30    Close – families free to continue exploring the Crystal.

How to register?
Spaces are limited to 30 in total. This activity is suitable for Children’s University Passport Holders aged 7 -14, younger siblings welcome. If you are interested please register on Eventbrite, spaces allocated on a first come first served basis.

We would like say a special congratulations to Year 6 pupils, Megi and Faith for receiving their bronze awards – by achieving 30 hours of learning stamps by visiting various learning destinations – and graduating. The Children’s University Graduation ceremony was held at Brampton Primary School on Tuesday 9th February. Well done girls!
