Year 4 went on an exciting trip to the National Gallery on 4th April 2019. Linked to their upcoming Art topic of storytelling Norse myths through paintings, the children explored different paintings by different artists from Greece to Italy. Many children pushed the limits of their imagination, challenging each other’s ideas by investigating colours, brush strokes, and symbolic imagery. Children were able to use the names and dates on the paintings to reflect on the societies that may have existed during that time, too. All in all, a creative day for such creative children!
