Nursery had a dental workshop to show children how to brush their teeth effectively. We discussed what food was healthy and unhealthy for teeth and how sugar affects the body. Children have explored a range of books, sharing stories with each other. Many children have even retold a familiar story to others. We supported the children in selecting books, holding it up the right way and discussing what they can see from the illustrations.
Children took a visit to the pirate ship. They were challenged with a range of obstacles and equipment. Many children persevered through new physical challenges, having a go and asking adults for help when needed.
We had a fantastic cultural day! Many children dressed up in traditional clothing and tasted food brought in by different cultures. Children were able to share experiences with each other, noticing similarities and differences.
For the week of Halloween children explored light and shadows using new technology. Children also had the opportunity to explore force and texture by hammering golf tees into pumpkins whilst strengthening their fine motor skills.
Children were interested in taking on the roles of doctors and nurses. They explored medical tools and how to use them purposefully, whilst developing their language skills.
The children in the Nursery have been practicing their physical skills with the P.E coach Mr White. They strengthened a range of climbing, balancing and jumping skills.
Children in the Nursery have been practicing writing their names. We have seen great progress from most children! Keep practicing name writing daily at school and at home!
