SEND did their gardening session in the large group room this week due to the rain. We were looking at the different textures of seeds: Pomegranates’ hard, red seeds, papayas’ slimy seeds, pumpkins’ slippery seeds and mango seeds and pulp were investigated by SEND children. They were very interested in the tastes and textures of different fruits and their seeds!
One child used a spoon to tap the pomegranate and said, ” tap, tap, tap, make juice” ” make more juice” “make another juice” while squashing the seeds in the plastic bag, as he did not want to get his hands dirty.
Another child was also happy to touch the papaya and pick the seeds out from the pomegranate.
