Meet The School Librarians
Amreen
I wanted to become a librarian because I could learn more about how books are sorted into different types of letters according to the surname of the author – which enables me to know about more authors and more books. I also wanted to be a librarian because sorting out books helped me to see more books (which I had never heard of). As most people may know more about the library than me, I can also communicate with my peers.
Things that I like about our library are that it has a wide variety of books and we can select a book to take home. Many children come to the library and we can discuss books with each other! Another thing that I like about our library is that there are comfortable stools and bean bag chairs where we can sit and read!
I love books and reading because I can learn new things and explore many worlds and obtain new vocabulary and empathise and refer to characters. Fiction books can enable me to explore many adventurous worlds whilst non-fiction books can help me to obtain knowledge and interesting information which may be useful.

I wanted to become a librarian because doing this job enables me to develop skills such as sorting and organising. I also wanted to have this duty, as it enables me to find more books by the authors I like. To add on to this, I can also get some potential work experience from this.
What I like about the library is that we can go there most days to look things up, or simply just for pleasure. I can also get to socialise with my fellow librarians.
I like books and reading because I get to learn new things and almost befriend a character when lonely. I also like doing this as I can travel the world (and imaginary ones) in my chair.

Being a librarian has been better than I thought it would be. I like to help others to get their book reviews and books because seeing them read gives me memories of when my parents would come to school to read with me in Reception. Seeing the joy in kids faces when they finish their reward card reminds me of when we had reading assemblies to celebrate others progress.
In the library I like to sort and reorganise books that are muddled up. And also, we have recently got a new cupboard with boxes stacked on each shelf for us to fill with books.
Mrs Overton and Mrs Alasko are amazing, beautiful ladies who encourage us to think about our future reading. They also hold fun reading engagements which pull us into our imaginations and draw us into the texts which helps us to empathise with the characters. My partner Miheala is a talented librarian who I look up to and praise most of the time. We both enjoy making the library a better place for everyone.

I wanted to be a librarian because I like being in the library since it is quiet. I like being a librarian because it is slow moving, simple and I get to help clean and organise an area that I go to every day. I like reading because you get to laugh at unfortunate or funny situations.
Mihaela
I am a Keir Hardie librarian because I am reliable and I love books. My love for books will catch on to anyone who enters enters the library, which is an outstanding piece of artwork. Giving the reward to cards to Mrs Overton is a dream come true. Giving the children their band (green, red, blue) is amazing.
In the library there are a million books, which is fabulous because I get to read them. Mrs Alasko is a wonderful, amazing and stunning librarian. On the other hand, there is Mrs Overton who has hands as lovely as a piece of red velvet cake. Their humour is 10/10 and fills our library with joy! They encourage us to read more and more because reading is good for you. I cannot forget Mr Nelson, he is the person who keeps the library in tip top shape and is a very important piece of the puzzle.

I wanted to become a librarian because I wanted to spend time in the library and help others with books. I like the library because you get to read there and borrow books to read at home. I love reading because you learn new stuff from books. The librarians are the best people to help you in the library and they can recommend books for you to read.

I wanted to become a librarian because I love to help people in the library and to help them to find what they love to read. I like the library because it helps me with my learning and when I’m upset, a good book calms me down. I love books because they are interesting and help me with my knowledge and when I read stories I feel good using my imagination. We are the best librarians because we always help and suggest books for others to read.

I want to be a librarian because I like reading books 📚 and helping people – a librarian is a mixture of both! Something that I like about the school library is that there is a separate area for non-fiction and fiction books. Another part of the library that I like quite a lot is the area where you can relax and read books. I like reading books because they teach you new things and they transport you to another world and help me relax. Some of my favourite books include: ‘The Clockwork Crow Trilogy’, ‘Black Cats & Butlers’ and ‘A Place Called Perfect’.

I wanted to become a librarian as I wanted to show my peers how wonderful books are. They can help you to travel to places you have never heard of before, and show you the greatness of reading. I also became a librarian to help people find the books they want.
What I like about the library are the hundreds of books you can lose yourself in. Many different genres of books eg mystery, factual, horror, fantasy etc. furthermore, the library is a peaceful place where you can read undisturbed in the tranquil atmosphere, with only the sounds of whispering and the rustling of pages.
Personally, I love books, and have done so for years. I love books because they help me to escape the real world and dive into new universes. It’s like a portal. Whether it is about animals, superheroes, or aliens, books have always enchanted me.
Mrs Overton and Mrs Alasko have always helped me when I needed to find a book or when I needed to look up a word or term. They have always been kind and benevolent to me, showing me where sections of books were and recommending ‘good reads’ too.
