Cody Dock, originally built in 1871, was constructed by the Imperial Chemical Company for the purpose of unloading coal from barges.
Year 6 visited yesterday as part of their learning in Geography studying about the local area.
Ben (Citizen Science and Environmental Manager from Cody Dock) and his team gave us a guided tour, and children learned about Cody Dock’s history and the River Lea.
We gained knowledge of different types of habitat for wildlife around the Cody Dock area by learning about the different types of wild flowers and plants along the bank of the river.
We finished our visit sitting around the wood fire eating delicious marshmallows!
