Our topic this term is ‘Transport’. As part of our learning, we organised an educational visit to Barrier Park. We walked to Canning Town station, observing types of transport along the way. Then, we took the DLR to Pontoon Dock and a short walk to Barrier Park. On our trip we spotted lots of types of transport. We saw trains, buses, cars, bicycles, boats, cable cars and more.
We had some lovely feedback from our parents who accompanied us on the visit:
“Hi, it was a lovely trip, well organised. The children were well looked after and were happy to look for means of transport. The choice of park was spot on, there was a big choice of fun activities. There were no incidents and everyone was happy. More trips should be organised, maybe Stratford Theatre, fire station, or O2 trampoline park (with Emirates cable car ride) for a sport day. We’re happy to attend to help.”
“It was a great opportunity for me to see how my child interacts with other children and in a group/community. I did like the fact all children had the same meal/snack despite me having his food ready in my bag. Children (and parents) had a great time at the playground but also learnt a lot while travelling. It was great physical exercise for us all as well. I look forward to more that I would be more than happy to attend. Thank you.”
“The visit to the park was wonderful, Aazeen really enjoyed this. As soon as her dad came home, she was super excited to tell him about the trip.”
“It has been a great opportunity to meet and talk to other parents, the teacher and spend time with my child while she was interacting with other children.”
“It was a pleasure and it was an opportunity for me and my son to spend time together on his first trip.”
“They definitely had fun. Esa and daddy told me all about it.”
